In a historic move toward inclusivity and family support, the Paris 2024 Olympic Games will introduce a nursery designed for athlete parents.
The International Olympic Committee said this reflects a significant step forward in recognizing the diverse needs of Olympians, ensuring they can focus on their performance while staying connected with their young children.
. The new place , P&G and its lead brand Pampers, is near the Olympic Village Plaza and will provide a secure place for breastfeeding, play areas, and diaper-changing facilities from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.

“For athletes who are also juggling their role as parents, connecting with their babies in an accessible space like the nursery supported by Pampers will be an amazing resource, providing valuable support to Olympic and Paralympic athletes during Games time,” said Laura Kenny, an Olympic cycling gold medallist, in a news release.
The facility offers a vital service for parents competing in the Games, allowing them to focus on one of the highlights of their careers while providing peace of mind knowing their young children are in a safe place, according to the organizing committee.
“Many athletes are balancing their sporting careers and family,” said Emma Terho, chair of theInternational Olympic Committee Athletes’ Commission, in a news release. “I know how this feels as I competed at the 2014 Olympic Winter Games as a mother with a young child.”
The idea for adding a nursery was launched by Allyson Felix, a member of the International Olympic Committee and retired United States track and field athlete.
“I just knew how difficult it was to compete at the top level after I had my daughter,” she said in a July 9 interview with CBS Mornings. “I really wanted to be that voice for athlete moms and just take away one less thing for them to worry about.”
Besides the nursery at the Olympic Village, P&G will offer products and services within the village, including a salon, laundry facilities, and a dental clinic. Free period products will be available in bathrooms throughout the village.
To accommodate athlete parents with infants and toddlers, the nursery will be accessible for children who are still in nappies/diapers, along with their designated caregivers.
