    Description

    This card measures approximately 3-3/8 x 5-3/8 inches, the usual size of Velox cards.
    We measure all cards to the nearest eighth of an inch.
    Dramatic real photo of an arc of lightning in a black sky. The lightning has illuminated the clouds below, though the main street of the town underneath remains in the dark. The lightning has multiple branches at each end. The photo is signed at the bottom of the image by A.A. Forbes. The Real Photo Postcard Guide, by Robert Bogdan and Todd Weseloh, lists Andrew Alexander Forbes (1862-1921) among the photographers in Appendix 3. "During the postcard era he had a studio in Bishop [Inyo County], California, where he produced photo postcards."
